Sina Weibo (English: Weibo/Sina Weibo, official name Weibo, is a social media website launched by Sina.com, providing micro-blogging.
Users can post updates through web pages, WAP pages, mobile phone mobile programmes, etc., and can upload pictures and videos or live video streams to achieve instant sharing and spread interaction. It is currently known as the Chinese version of Twitter.
Sina Weibo adopts the same promotion strategy as Sina Blog, i.e., inviting stars and celebrities to join the opening of microblogs and authenticating them with real names. After authentication, an orange letter ‘V’ will be added to the user name of the authenticated user to show the difference with ordinary users and microbloggers, and to avoid the behaviour of pretending to be a celebrity's microblogger. The functions of microblogging are the same as those of ordinary users.
