Pixiv (P-Site) is a virtual community site within a social networking service centred on illustration, comics and fiction, and art. Pixiv is a community of artists from Japan, China, Korea, and the United States who share their high-resolution illustrations with each other. Editors use Pixiv to find new artists, and artists use Pixiv to showcase their work and gather popularity, which in turn leads to commercial opportunities for them. Initially the site was only available in Japanese, but as more and more people from other countries and regions signed up, it became available in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English and Korean.
Pixiv divides user-created content into three sections - illustrations, comics, and novels - and has an age rating (prohibited for underage users), but unregistered users cannot view sensitive content. pixiv takes copyright very seriously, prohibiting users from posting other people's work on the site, republishing other people's work without permission, or advertising their work for business.
